Sport & Schools
Dear Editor
The Conservatives Party have come up with a rather good policy idea in terms of School Sport. Myself and my family have committed our whole lives to offering Martial Arts and Sports facilities for the people of Sittingbourne and the UK, we have founded many clubs and lots of our former pupils have formed their own clubs. The government in the last 10 years has produced two good policies to help small sports clubs. The first by a Tory government the National Lottery especially the small projects grant i.e. projects under £5000 and secondly by the Labour Government “Community Amateur Sport Clubs” by becoming one of these sports clubs you are entitled to 100% rate relief both of these have helped clubs out no end. Sport, Fitness and good health is very difficult to promote in Schools the modern day child no longer wants to play team games, go running etc they want something different. Some schools like Sittingbourne Community College have realised that and now employ my son as a Self Defense Coach, other schools like Fulston Manor and Highsted Girls regularly bring pupils to our DOJO in East Street. I would like to quote what the Conservatives propose:
Conservatives today launched a new youth sports policy,
Club2School, which will substantially increase the provision of sport for young
people.
Every child will be offered two hours free sports coaching in their chosen sport
every week. This will be in addition to the aspiration of two hours sport during
school hours Theses changes will cut bureaucratic decision-making and get the
money straight to the clubs.
I have deliberately left out all political point scoring as I believe this should be supported by all Parties as it will help children and bring much needed members/revenue to amateur clubs.
Yours Faithfully
