KIDS LOVE SAMBO

The following junior members of the Warriors Grappling Academy passed their Sambo Grading Hayden Con-White Yellow Belt,

 Katie John Yellow Belt,

 Liam Jordan Orange belt,

 Miles Loscombe Orange Belt.

Lewis Clarke Green Belt,

 Richard Seaman Green belt,

 Sonny Tappin Blue Belt

 So why do the Kids love Sambo over other Jacket Wrestling sports like Judo?

First of all let’s explain what Sambo is:

 Sambo is a Jacket Wrestling Sport from Russian developed in the early 1900’s for the old Soviet Union military, some even refer to it as Russian Judo and there is little bit of truth in that as the founder of Sambo actually trained with the founder of Judo. The two sports may have had similarities in the 1900’s but not any more, Sambo kept most of the original style as Judo moved away from theirs in the past few years Judo has become very restrictive in what techniques can and can not be used.

This is why the kids , who do Judo as well, like Sambo because they can do a lot more different techniques, one hold down doesn’t finish the match and the referee gives hand signals with rules that are easy to understand. Sambo Players wear a tight fitting jacket, shorts and boots. Sambo is for Juniors is relatively new so much so getting the right equipment is very difficult but things will soon change as Martin Clarke is have 300 made in Pakistan

The Warriors are re joining the British Wrestling Association and hope to start teaching Olympic Freestyle Wrestling in the near future
