Hammerlock Wrestling Folds
The Hammerlock Professional Wrestling club based at East Street Sports Centre Sittingbourne has had to fold up due to lack of interest and members. Hammerlock have been in the town for nearly 10 years so it is a shame to see them go, Andre Baker who ran the club said that the membership went down so low they could not afford even the very moderate rent being charged by the Sports Centre. Pro Wrestling (Wrestlers acting out matches) is this country has been in the decline for some years as a lot more people are going back to real grappling sports such as free Style Wrestling, Sombo Wrestling etc.
The loss of the Pro Wrestling club leaves the Sports Centre in a quandary in the fact they have a empty hall of 35ft x 40ft, if anyone is interested in hiring the hall on a permanent basis weekly or by the session they should contact Martin Clarke on 0700 5641448 Sombo@blueyonder.co.uk
