Another Tax Increase.
The UK is fast becoming the highest taxed country in the World; our esteemed chancellor Gordon Brown has given us yet another one to look forward to in April. As per usual with this government it has kept this tax rise low key I refer to the landfill tax increase of 7%. So businesses pay there business rates which does not include waste disposal, which they have top pay a private company to remove, and for the privilege of removing the waste the waste company has to pay a Landfill Tax which obviously has to be passed on to the customer. The same applies to the householder who will have to foot the bill in their council tax.
On the subject of Council Tax the massive increases imposed on us by the Labour government has caused a lot of controversy throughout the country, I have never worked out because your house is worth more you should have to pay more. A fair way would be for every person over 18 years of age to pay an individual fee once a year to the Local Council. If any one of those individual fee payers is suffering hardship they could apply for a reduction or total dispensation, which would be then paid for by the government. This would be easier to administrate then the present system and would be fairer. I am surprised nobody has thought of this before or have they?????????
